Mooves
into prestigious list of top entrepreneurs

Joanne DewberryJoanne Dewberry, founder of Charlie Moo's and co-owner of Networking Mummies (Dorset) has been included as one of the Future 100 Young Social Entrepreneurs of the Year announced as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009.

The Future 100 awards encourage and reward extraordinary vision, ethical business practice and social responsibility. They aim to showcase businesses that offer innovative and sustainable solutions to social problems. The top 100 includes young people aged 18-35 who are demonstrating entrepreneurial flair and innovation in running a responsible business venture; one which demonstrates a balance between economic, environmental and social goals to achieve ultimate business success.

Joanne, 28, said “I was delighted to be included in the top 100, which recognises both business spirit and environmental awareness. I started Charlie Moo's after becoming disheartened by the party bags my son received, being full of sweets and age inappropriate plastic toys. I wanted to supply mothers with quality, sustainable products- I couldn't see the point in party bags that didn't last .. where was the fun in that?”

charlie moosCharlie Moos provides a unique and eclectic mix of party bags and fillers, specialising in handmade fabric party bags which Joanne makes herself, balancing being a business woman with being a full time mummy to Charlie 2 and Megan 1. Charlie Moo's boosts a lovely range of wooden and traditional fillers and handmade bags which can be empty or pre-filled.networking mummies dorset

Joanne also co-runs Networking Mummies (Dorset) along with Laura Morris from rentabuggy, which is  a networking group for mums already running business or those looking to start. Their aim is to provide help and support via a community of small businesses. More details about the group and their upcoming events, to include a glitzy charity fashion show, can be found on Networking Mummies Dorset

Heather Wilkinson, founder of Striding Out and organiser of the Future100 awards, said: "The future of our world is in the hands of individuals who are committed to generating commercial and ethical returns.

Challenging economic times can offer opportunities to question the way we operate as both a business community and a society. We are profiling the 'Future 100' young entrepreneurs who are changing the face of everyday business and improve commerce's impact on the wider world."
