Description of Company:

We provide Puppet based children’s entertainment for party and educational purposes. We are the market leader in Ireland and have recently launched in the UK.  We take “ordinary” people (none of our franchisees had any entertaining skills or experience) who want to work with children, have flexibility, be their own boss and turn them into brilliant entertainment professionals! Actually, the hardest part for you is taking that first step.  Once people make the decision, you would be amazed at how quickly our ordinary mums (and some dads too!) grow into confident entertainers and business owners.

Most of our entertainment (puppet shows and music) is pre-recorded which obviously means that you don’t actually have to be the next Rolf Harris to run this business.

The market is huge and a Kids Party Club franchisee offers families, professional, fun, safe, reliable and great value party entertainment. We also provide shows for school on topics like bullying, healthy eating and literacy promotion.

Work Description:

So, who is this opportunity suitable for?

You can approach this as a second-income business or as a full time venture that you can grow and maybe even take on others to do the entertaining.  It’s up to you!

We are looking for good people all over the UK and we are very flexible when looking at exclusive territories.

Average hours per week:

This is the, “how long is a piece of string” question!  If you approach this as a part-time opportunity then you are probably looking at 8 to 12 hours a week. If you look at this as a business you run full-time then you will be working full-time promoting the business, doing shows and maybe managing a few other people doing shows for you. It really depends on how you see yourself running this business and what you want out of it.

Investment required:

The Franchisee Fee is £12,500 plus VAT.  However, right now and for the first few (probably just 5 or 6) people that come on board, we are offering the following;

• A 20% discount off the franchise fee (worth £2,500 + VAT)
• A lifetime reduction of 10% on the monthly management fee
• A 25% larger than standard territory
• Free vehicle branding worth £500
• £500 contribution to your year 1 advertising & promotion

Ongoing Financial Commitment:

As with any franchise there are on-going management services fees (MSF’s) which we will clearly lay out for you.

Earning Potential:

Again, it depends on how you approach the business and what you want out it. You can operate it as a part-time venture, a full-time venture with you doing all the shows or as a management type venture, where you employ others to do the shows.  Each option will bring its own level of reward which will reflect the effort and commitment involved.

Experience Required:

Well, for us, it’s all about the individual. If you love children and are really enthusiastic about starting something for yourself, you are about 90% of the way there! 

Training & Support:

Full training, equipment and on-going support is provided. 

• 3 days training in Ireland
• All show equipment, including stage, puppets, lighting, sound, CD’s of shows and disco sets, magic tricks, props etc

Car Required:

You will need a vehicle. From a practical point of view, even a small car such as a Ford Fiesta, can easily accomodate the equipment you will carry.  Whatever the vehicle, we strongly recommend that you brand it as it’s a great way to promote yourself. Many of our franchisees move fairly quickly to getting a small van.

Storage Required:

Your equipment is easily stored taking up a small corner of your spare room or garage for example.

One of the latest addition to the Kids Party Club success story is now up and running. Geraldine McDonnell has acquired and launched a new Kids Party Club franchise covering CountyMayo in Ireland.

Geraldine looked at a number of factors before embarking on a new business venture. "The reason I choose to go the franchising route was I felt the research and the development of the business would have been done and I wanted to be my own boss, but with added support and backup from the franchisor", Geraldine says.

The children's entertainment and education sector is a large and varied market, but most importantly one of the fastest growing. With many options on the table Geraldine thought Kids Party Club stood out immediately. "What attracted me to Kids Party Club initially was its website; not only was it professional, but had a fun yet business-like approach to it. It ticked all the boxes for me such as being part of an established business with 12 other franchisees, the fact I could work from home as I still have a young family, and I knew there was a market for this kind of children's entertainment in Mayo", she adds.

To compliment all of this, Geraldine, who works as an interior designer part-time, felt she had the vision and creative skills to sell the business. The added experience of helping out in her local playgroup, where entertaining children is a priority, will prove very useful as the business emerges.

Once signed up the next step was to familiarise herself with the Kids Party Club through a series of training modules. "It was excellent, intense and covered all of the aspects of what the Kids Party Club wants to achieve through its franchises. I came away secure in the knowledge that I knew exactly what I was doing and that there is a support system there at all times for me. I was particularly impressed with the attention to even the smallest of detail", Geraldine says.

Future development plans will include the expansion of the business to employ at least one more entertainer over the coming year. She adds: "To me Kids Party Club is the best children's entertainment franchise nationally and with the great support from all the team it makes this business even more appealing".
