Baby Signing is a means of communicating with your baby before he/she can speak.
How?
Using a series of simple signs based on British Sign Language.
When?
From just a few months of age, a child becomes more aware of their surroundings. Their receptive skills are also improved. In theory, they have the ability to communicate basic needs and wants to parents/carers. However, their vocal chords are not sophisticated enough to allow this. As the use of movement and gesture develops earlier, they can be taught to use signs.
We are not just about Baby Signing.
We are proud to have skilled instructors who can liase with nurseries, pre-schools and schools to offer basic sign language training and deliver Deaf Awareness sessions.
We can confidently deliver Deaf Awareness sessions that are appropriate to our target audience - be it a room full of university professors, sixth formers or three year olds.
